Sam G. Caras

Attorney at Law

A Dayton native, Attorney Sam G. Caras has strong ties to the community. He started practicing law in 1980 and later chose to open a firm in his hometown in 1991. As one of the first lawyers in Montgomery County to receive a multimillion-dollar verdict, Sam is proud of his high success rate, and he focuses on settling cases before they reach the need for trial. He has represented cases before all levels of Ohio’s courts, including the Supreme Court of Ohio. Sam proudly serves residents of Dayton, Ohio, and the neighboring counties, though his professional service has included litigation in Michigan, Alabama, and Florida.

Heather J. Maynard

Legal Assistant, Office Manager, Bookkeeper

Heather is also a Dayton native, and continues to support the community in which she was raised. Heather came to our firm in June of 2016 with a long history of outstanding service in both the healthcare and accounting fields. As such, Heather serves as Sam's Legal Assistant on medical negligence, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases, in addition to being our firm's Office Manager and Bookkeeper. In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her family.

Leah Staggs

Paralegal

Leah came to our firm in October of 2020 to serve as Sam’s Paralegal on personal injury, medical negligence and malpractice, and wrongful death cases.  As she has over 20 years of paralegal and administrative experience in the legal and healthcare fields, this has helped her gain important skills that allow her to provide the best service to our clients.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and being involved in her community.
